My Story

My passion for women’s health began when I started treating patients struggling with obesity. My own struggles with weight led to an interest in obesity medicine, so I developed the Peninsula Family Medical Center Weight Management Program. I quickly saw that the most successful outcomes came from combining medication with intensive lifestyle support. That experience inspired me to become a certified health coach.

As I entered perimenopause, I noticed striking similarities in the way the medical system treats menopause and obesity: women are often dismissed, minimized, and told to try harder. Even though effective treatments exist—including hormone therapy and weight loss medications—many women are never offered them. They’re advised to eat better, stress less, or wear layers, as if they aren’t already trying everything they can.

The good news is that research on women’s health in midlife is expanding rapidly. We now understand more than ever about how hormones, metabolism, and aging intersect—and we have better tools to help women feel well. I am excited about translating that science into compassionate, personalized care for my patients.

I live in Gig Harbor, Washington with my three sons and one small dog. I see patients virtually in Washington and Utah, and I would love to help you navigate this stage of life with confidence. Let’s start this journey together.
